Corrections
Say what is wrong and what the correct version is, with a source if you have one. A link to the filing, paper or spec sheet is worth more than a description of it. Substantive corrections are noted on the article itself rather than edited in quietly, which is the standard set out on the about page.
Tips
If you work on something technical and interesting, get in touch. Detail is more useful than pitch: a number, a document or a measurement beats an adjective. Anything sent in confidence is treated that way, and no source is named without being asked first.
What happens to what you send
Everything sent here is read. Where a reply is needed it comes within a week; corrections are dealt with faster than that.
Messages go to a queue behind the newsroom sign-in rather than to a published address, which keeps the address away from the scrapers that harvest them. Nothing sent through this form is added to the newsletter, and the message is not passed to anyone else. The privacy policy covers what is kept and for how long.
